Workshop Presentation and Discussion:
This interactive workshop will explore the use of Kundalini Yoga (KY) meditation techniques in treatment of various psychiatric disorders including OCD, MDD, ADHD, and PTSD. Participants will learn and practice multiple techniques and be taught how to formulate short protocols for patients that want to include these
techniques in their treatment as either a complement to psychotherapy and/or medication, medication resistance, or electing to forgo medication or psychotherapy. No previous background or experience with meditation or yoga is required and all of the techniques can be conveniently practiced while sitting in standard meeting room chairs.

David Shannahoff-Khalsa is a research scientist, world authority in yogic medice, Kundalini Yoga teacher and a leader in the field of Alternative Therapies for Psychiatric Disorders. Director of the Research Group for Mind/Body Dynamics, Shannahoff-Khalsa's popular writing has appeared in American Health and Psychology Today and his scientific writings have appeared in top academic and medical journals. Speaking regularly at national and international conferences, he has also been an advisor to the Pentagon, the National Research Council Committee on Techniques to Enhance Human Performance, the California Task Force to Promote Self Esteem and Personal and Social Responsibility, and an editorial advisor for several scientific journals.
