Multi Cultural Holiday Celebration

Discovery, Conversation, Learning, Friendship and Community

Integrative Discussion groups are free meetings open to all members of CIP academia and the greater San Diego community. Experts on topics relevant to Integrative Psychology will facilitate a casual discussion on that topic. We aim to facilitate awareness in the field of Integrative Psychology through education, outreach, and collaboration with the greater community.

The Guidelines We Follow

Respect other people’s beliefs.
Strive to balance events, recognizing that people relate to the world through various modalities (kinesthetic, visual, auditory, etc.).
We strive to create opportunities for productive dialogue, not to discredit or prove any one theory or practice .

BASIC DOMAINS of Integrative Psychology Events

Personal Consciousness: Spiritual and creative practices; Mindfulness & meaning-making.
Self in Relationship: Psychology’s moral agency; belief systems, worldviews, values, and cultures.
Well-being & Socioeconomic Institutions: sustainability, political and action psychologies, eco-psychology, social disparities
Biological Health Research and Practices: Integrative medicine, Somatics, Subtle Energies, Mind/Body therapies

The Disclaimer

Integrative Psychology emphasizes the interdependence of social, cultural, physical, spiritual, and psychological dynamics. Studying well-being from a systems perspective combines traditional healing wisdoms and new paradigms of social evolution. The Center's programs honor diversity by integrating ecological, philosophical, spiritual, aesthetic, cultural, and scientific ways of knowing. It emphasizes psychology's agency in social contexts.
We propose a practical psychology large enough to study human interactions in whole systems, to address disassociations of identity, and to promote a healthy and sustainable society. This psychology addresses the meaning and quality of our personal, social, and global relationships, and the "power-over" relations implicit. It seeks to bring humanitarian and scientific thought to bear upon critical human problems, including the effect of contemporary environments on health and behavior, and conversely the effects of human behavior on the environment.
